Kathmandu/ 17 September, President Ramchandra Poudel has observed the Indra Jatra.
On the occasion of the cultural and historical festival Indra Jatra, President Paudel has visited from Juddha Salik to Hanumandhoka Palace area on foot and observed the Jatra. He was welcomed by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol.
On the occasion of the Jatra, President Paudel had given permission to ride the Dakshina on the chariots of Shri Ganesha, Shri Bhairav ​​and Shri Kumari. After this, the Rath Yatra of Shri Ganesha, Shri Bhairav ​​and Shri Kumari was performed. Today is the main day of Indra Jatra, which started on the day of Bhadra Shukla Dwadashi on Tuesday morning at Hanumandhoka Palace area.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Vishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal and other ministers, MPs, State Assembly members and local people representatives were present to observe the Jatra.
Indra, who is worshiped as the god of rain and time, was also worshiped today. On the occasion of Jatra, there are cultural tableaus and dances including Lakhe dance, Dashavatar dance, Mahakali dance, Ramchandra dance, Pulukisi dance and others. A public holiday has been given in Kathmandu Valley on the occasion of this festival.
