Lalitpur/ 22 June, The ‘School of Arts’ under Kathmandu University has informed that it is conducting research on gender equality and social inclusion in public schools. The ‘School of Arts’ held a press conference on Friday and informed that it is conducting research on issues such as equal participation, gender discrimination and caste discrimination in schools under a three-year program.
School of Arts has been conducting research for three months in 13 public schools of Bhojpur Municipality, Bhojpur District, with the aim of improving Nepal’s education by reducing gender discrimination, unequal participation in schools and caste discrimination. Vinayak Thapa informed.
“Currently we have started in 13 schools of Bhajepur municipality, in the coming days we will conduct research programs in other district public schools as well,” he said.
Under the three-year program started by the ‘School of Arts’, the subject of learning and teaching will be studied and researched with priority. He will study the situation of gender discrimination and social inclusion in schools and work to solve it. It has been informed that the aim of this program is to improve the education sector by ending all discrimination in schools.
According to director Thapa, there is also a plan to conduct a radio program for gender equality in the school.
“In this three-year program, we will broadcast public awareness messages through radio programs to maintain gender equality in schools. After three years, we will hand over the research and study report to the local government and provide more support,” he said.
